The project is creating training centers for training unemployed women cut and sewn

Content

The main objective of the project was to create the conditions for the acquisition of non-working women professional and focused on practical goals skills by teaching them the basics of sewing and business.

The Project implemented on the basis of public-private partnership between the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GIZ), the Swiss company BERNINA International AG and Uzbek company LLC BERNINA-TIKUVMASH, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Uzbekistan, the Swiss Embassy, the Association of Business Women of Uzbekistan, the Association and the Women’s Council organizations.

The project, in July 2010 in Tashkent established Training Center LLC «BERNINA-TIKUVMASH», on an intensive course which unemployed women from the regions of the country were taught cut of and sewing, as well as their own businesses. Education was carried out free of charge (including accommodation and lunch). For women who are unable to learn sewing in isolation from family and home, free training courses conducted by the Regional multiplications, specially prepared for this at the Training Center.

The training program was developed with the help of specialists of the Moscow Training Center Swiss partner and the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry and provided training on modern technologies, sewing and cutting techniques. In addition, business training conducted by the organization’s own sewing business, in marketing, the primary account, the opening of the legal person, business plans, design of microcredit and training on the computer.

For the period from July 2010 to March 2013 sewing trained 544 unemployed women from Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Namangan, Samarkand and Fergana regions and Tashkent city. At the beginning of the project in the Training Center of the regions have been prepared by 18 multipliers who later organized a regional training courses for unemployed women in the Project. In addition, in Bukhara and Namangan regions opened branches Training Centre.
